CAHR is pleased to announce that 100% of eligible CAHR Community Registration Scholarships applications were funded for CAHR 2018. When the program was announced, CAHR anticipated funding 80 such scholarships in total. In the end, 100 applications were received, of which 95 were approved for Community Registration Scholarships (the five that were not approved were deemed ineligible by reviewers as they were not from the HIV community). In addition to the 95 Community Registration Scholarships, CAHR will be supporting five Community Travel Awards winners (whose scholarship includes flight, accommodation and registration) from across Canada: Nova Scotia; Quebec; Ontario; Manitoba; and Northern BC. CAHR extends its appreciation to the HIV community members who comprised the Review Panel for their time and dedication to this effort. These scholarships — worth a combined $80,000 — were designed to give priority to those living with HIV and those that will utilize the knowledge gained from attending the Conference.
