Mark Brockman is a Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Simon Fraser University. His research aims to understand the host and viral mechanisms that contribute to HIV pathogenesis and latency, including strategies used by HIV to evade the human immune response. Mark received his PhD in Virology from Harvard University and he conducted postdoctoral training in Immunology at the Massachusetts General Hospital before joining the faculty at SFU in 2009. His ongoing research and training activities are supported by long-standing collaborations with researchers in South Africa and the USA.
