Viviane Dias Lima, MSc PhD, is a Scientist and Senior Methodologist at the British Columbia Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS with more than 15 years of experience conducting research on vulnerable populations living with or at high risk of HIV/AIDS. Dr. Lima is also an Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia. The focus of her research career has been on the epidemiology and control of HIV. Based on extensive training in statistics, epidemiology and mathematical modelling, Dr. Lima has developed innovative models of disease progression and transmission to understand the potential impact of behavioural, biomedical and programmatic interventions on the HIV epidemic.
