Dr. Shariq Haider completed his MD with distinction from the University of Saskatchewan in 1995. He completed his Residency in Core Internal Medicine at the University of Toronto from 1995 to 1999. He completed his Infectious Disease Fellowship at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI, which was the Michigan Center of Excellence in HIV. He completed his Diploma in Tropical Medicine at the London School of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene in the United Kingdom. He is a Professor of Medicine at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Head of Transplant/Malignant ID Service at the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Center, and is the current Medical Director of HIV Care. His clinical and research interests are in Infections in Immunocompromised Hosts, with a focus on Hepatitis C care.
